Event history Tsunami in Aceh

History events in the Aceh Tsunami Tsunami is a natural event such as a displacement volume of sea water as a result of the earthquake that occurred on the seabed, the volcano that erupted on the ocean floor, or it could be caused by a meteor in the sea. The pace of its own tsunami could reach 500-100 kilometers / hour, equivalent to the speed of the aircraft. History records some of the largest tsunami events throughout history and it tsunami that occurred in Aceh is the deadliest tsunami in history.

December 26, 2004

Tectonic earthquake measuring 8.5 magnitude centered in the Indian Ocean (LU 2.9 and 95.6 BT at a depth of 20 km (in the sea is about 149 miles south of the town of Meulaboh, Aceh). The earthquake was accompanied by a tidal wave (tsunami) which swept some offshore areas in Indonesia (Aceh and North Sumatra), Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, the Maldives and Thailand.

The tsunami that occurred in 2004 and is noted to have killed more than 230,000 people does not include the number of people missing. All of these events originated from the underwater earthquake events that occurred in the Indian Ocean on December 26, 2004 where there is the epicenter off the west coast of Sumatra. Sumatra society itself named earthquake, Earthquake Sumatra - Andaman. Experts Meteorology and Geophysics of BMKG stated that the devastating earthquake was caused by subduction (the movement of tectonic plates).

Tsunami is the biggest in the history of not only cause damage to the infrastructure in the area of Sumatra alone. However, in some countries such as Thailand, Sri Lanka and Africa also get the same impact severity. At that time, Indonesia, Maldives, and Sri Lanka declared a state of emergency as the greatest event in history is regarded as a national disaster. People from different parts of the world also did not stay silent, various assistance from the international community continues to flow. Even some countries not only provide assistance in the form of the material, but also sends volunteer workers to down play a role in the reconstruction process.

Although the tsunami in Aceh, which is the largest tsunamis throughout history have beralalu, but the reconstruction process is still ongoing today. Not a bit of news about 'disunatnya' aid - aid from abroad, but at least the people of Aceh - Sumatra has been able to organize their lives back. An earthquake measuring 9.1 magnitude (according to the United States Geological Survey, although denied by the California Institute of Technology who stated that the strength of the earthquake when it reached 9.2 SR), followed by a major tsunami event it has devastated large parts of Aceh, so it is not surprising that the incident was recorded as Peris incident largest tsunami in history.

That's the grim story that happened 9 years ago at the end of 2004. However, as time went on, all the improvements continue to run. At least, that's who read and heard in the media.
